Referent*in (d/w/m) Finanzen Deutsche Programme

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Deutschland is seeking a Finance Officer for German Programs to support financial management, reporting, and compliance with donor guidelines. The role involves budget analysis, expenditure review, and training project staff on financial procedures, ideally based in Berlin or remote within Germany.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly internal budget analyses for ongoing projects.
• Prepare interim and expenditure reports according to donor guidelines (especially public donors, e.g. EU-funded programs).
• Review ongoing project-related expenses and their accounting and cost center allocation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant donor guidelines, including correct allocation of own contributions.
• Work closely with other finance departments and contribute to smooth processing of general financial processes, especially in the internal financial software 'Integra' (based on Microsoft Dynamics).
• Train project staff in budget and expenditure management and correct application of IRC guidelines.

Requirements

• You have a recognized university degree in Germany, ideally in finance, NGO management, economics or a related field.
• You have at least two years of professional experience in finance, ideally in project financing/grant management or a comparable position in a non-profit organization.
• You have experience with managing donor-funded projects.
• You have advanced skills in Excel and use it confidently and routinely.
• You have German and English language skills at least at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• You work very carefully with a good eye for detail.
• You have experience with Microsoft Dynamics software (or comparable).
• Your work is characterized by reliability and a team-oriented approach.
