See your match score & applyThe Protection Caseworker (Rule of Law) provides direct assistance to individuals at risk through case management, referrals, and psychosocial support. The role involves fieldwork in affected communities and coordination with IRC protection teams and external service providers to ensure access to protection services and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Identify individuals at risk through engagement with local authorities, direct community outreach, referrals from PRoL and other IRC sectors, and participation in Humanitarian Coordination Mechanisms.
- Conduct protection needs assessments and risk evaluations, and develop case plans in accordance with IRC’s case management SOPs.
- Provide client-centered support and regular follow-up to ensure timely and appropriate service delivery.
- Lobby on behalf of individuals and families to access services and support individuals and families to effectively represent their views, needs and capacities in all meetings affecting them.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential documentation of all casework in line with data protection standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Organizations for Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and other community-based structures to ensure inclusive and accessible support.
- Participate in regular case management meetings, technical supervision, and capacity-building sessions.
- Support service mapping and maintain updated referral pathways to strengthen inter-agency coordination.
- Engage with local authorities to improve access to protection services.
- Contribute to IRC’s Protection Monitoring activities by conducting structured interviews at the household level and with key informants.
- Adhere to IRC’s Code of Conduct, safeguarding principles, and protection standards in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field.
- Skilled in using CommCare, Primero, and Kobo.
- Bilingual in Ukrainian and Russian and verbal and writing skills in English desired.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients.
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting.
- High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
