The consultant will support the implementation and monitoring of health interventions under the Public Health Unit (PHU). The role involves strengthening access to essential health services, improving quality and continuity of health interventions, and enhancing community-based public health preparedness, surveillance, screening, outreach, and response activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a coordination, monitoring, and follow-up plan for assigned PHU interventions including Community-Based Event Surveillance (CBES) and other health activities.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports summarizing implementation status, beneficiary reach, service utilization, referral pathways and outcomes, surveillance and outreach activities, key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Maintain coordination records and follow-up reports on healthcare interventions including eligibility verification, case review, approvals, referrals, case management, continuity of care, and coordination with healthcare providers and stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and verify programme data, databases, and monitoring records ensuring data quality, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.
  • Produce monitoring reports on community-based activities such as CBES, health screening, outreach, health promotion, community engagement, referral mechanisms, and public health response activities.
  • Develop training, orientation and briefing materials for field teams and implementing partners including attendance records, training reports, and supervision or monitoring reports.
  • Maintain coordination records, action trackers, and follow-up reports with field teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical inputs to programme planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and quality improvement including development of tools, trackers, SOPs, guidance notes, and other documents.
  • Prepare a final consultancy report summarizing activities, outputs, key findings, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Health Information Systems, or a related field
  • At least three to five years of relevant experience in public health programmes, health system support, disease surveillance, or health project coordination.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Experience in community engagement interventions is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong reporting and data-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
