Fundraising Content Officer

Fundraising Content Officers produce content offerings and assets aligned with donor interests and operational needs to support donor engagement and secure funding for ICRC activities. They develop fundraising products, produce appeals and reports, and coordinate content production with subject-matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Produce emergency, thematic and context materials and content for donors and prospects to secure effective, flexible and stable income for ICRC’s mission.
• Lead or contribute to the development of fundraising products by crafting or packaging written assets/materials, audio-visual content, institutional key messages, and event collaterals.
• Produce specific appeals, funding proposals, briefing documents and reports that meet donor requirements and support donor engagement plans.
• Keep available and up-to-date financial and non-financial information on assigned contexts or thematic or other files.
• Serve as the focal point and provide advice or other input on assigned files as needed.
• Source information from internal reporting tools and coordinate content production with subject-matter experts at headquarters and/or in delegations.
• Draft, edit and proofread fundraising content assets to ensure adherence to institutional frameworks, policies and editing guidelines.
• Adapt narrative content and presentation of content assets to the requirements and expectations of target donor audiences.
• Lead specific projects to produce content packages for specific donors or on assigned contexts or thematic priorities.
• Contribute to fundraising in emergencies by producing emergency updates or appeals in coordination with REM and OPS teams.
• Provide coaching support to new Fundraising Content Officers and contribute to their onboarding or training programmes.
• Coordinate with the Fundraising Publication team on content production and publication processes.

Requirements

• University degree or advanced certification.
• Master's degree in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, or any other related fields.
• High level of proficiency in English; French, Spanish or Arabic an asset.
• Five (5) years professional experience.
• Proven experience in writing in the English language, preferably as a communication professional, writer or researcher.
• Proven experience in analysing and synthesizing large amounts of information.
