Internship Programme for Europe and Central Asia (REU)

The FAO Internship Programme aims to attract talented young individuals to gain practical work experience in fields related to FAO's mission. Interns will contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework through assignments aligned with their academic background and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions specified in the Terms of Reference prepared by the hiring office before the assignment.
• Contribute to FAO's work in areas related to the intern's academic profile and organizational needs.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme at a recognized educational institution or recent graduate.
• Candidates must specialize in a field relevant to the mission and work of FAO.
• Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish).
• Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset.
• Be nationals of FAO Member Nations.
• Candidates should be aged between 21 and 30.
• Candidates should be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.
• Candidates must adhere to FAO values of Commitment to FAO, Respect for All and Integrity and Transparency.
• Candidates who have already undertaken an internship at FAO are not eligible for another internship.
• Selected candidates should have appropriate residence or immigration status in the proposed country of assignment prior to joining.
• Candidates with family members employed by FAO under any contractual arrangement are not eligible.
• FAO provides a monthly stipend to interns if not sponsored by sending universities or other entities.
