Investment Officer

The Investment Officer will originate, monitor and manage equity-type co-investment operations supporting the Bank's lending activities and contributing to EIB objectives. The role involves transaction execution, investment assessment, portfolio monitoring, product and process development, and stakeholder engagement within the co-investment ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Manage equity-type co-investment transactions with EIB’s partners in Europe in innovation intensive, infrastructure and climate related sectors.
• Coordinate the monitoring and management of existing co-investment transactions.
• Contribute to the implementation of relevant reporting tasks, processes, procedures, methodologies, systems and working tools and ensure their proper application.
• Develop innovative practical approaches to complex operational issues to speed up approval, blending and disbursements processes.
• Support the deployment of co-investment products across all EIB eligible sectors.
• Support the design and implementation of new operating models, templates, procedures, platforms, and other initiatives related to equity and quasi-equity co-investment activities.
• Manage interactions with internal and external counterparts, fostering strong relationships and effective collaboration across the investment ecosystem.

Requirements

• University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or another related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including: i) direct or indirect equity and/or quasi-equity investments, ii) assessment, structuring and execution of investments, or iii) monitoring and management of investment portfolios.
• Experience in collaborating with a wide network of stakeholders in an investment environment.
• Experience in innovation-intensive, digital, infrastructure, climate or energy-related sectors would be an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of various financial structures/products and related legal aspects.
• Good understanding of the EIB mission and activities as well as the operating and political framework in which the Bank operates.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French, with a good command of the other.
• Proficiency in both English and French is a pre-requisite for career development, with level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses (B1.2 CEFRL) expected.
• The Bank offers appropriate training support.
