See your match score & applyThe Team Leader Plaidoyer et CBP will lead advocacy and community-based protection activities for DRC in Chad, developing and implementing advocacy strategies, strengthening local partnerships and capacities, and promoting sustainable solutions for affected communities. The role involves close collaboration with program teams, MEAL, local partners, and humanitarian coordination bodies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement DRC's advocacy strategy in Chad aligned with national and regional priorities
- Identify advocacy issues and opportunities related to protection of affected populations
- Represent DRC in working groups and coordination forums (Protection cluster, advocacy groups, etc.)
- Draft advocacy notes, position papers and analytical reports
- Develop and supervise community protection activities in intervention areas
- Strengthen local protection mechanisms and community self-protection capacities
- Ensure integration of CBP approach across all DRC sectors
- Ensure active community participation in design, implementation and monitoring of activities
- Support capacity building of local partners and community actors in advocacy and protection
- Liaise with local authorities and key stakeholders
- Contribute to accountability towards affected communities
- Prepare and submit weekly activity reports to supervisor
- Contribute to monthly activity reports and studies/analyses (protection analyses, advocacy notes, community assessments)
- Provide all activity reports, meeting minutes, advocacy notes and related documents
- Prepare attendance lists, terms of reference and mission reports with supervision support
- Collect community data and contribute to protection analyses and participatory diagnostics
- Periodically collect testimonies and document success stories highlighting advocacy and CBP impact
- Ensure physical and digital archiving of all program documentation on project SharePoint per DRC standards
- Manage material and financial resources for department activities and provide supporting documents on time
- Comply with all procedures (administrative, HR, finance, logistics) and DRC Code of Conduct and internal regulations
- Apply zero tolerance policy on PSEA, fraud, corruption and sexual harassment
- Respect and enforce DRC internal procedures and donor requirements
- Demonstrate flexibility to respond to supervisor's instructions and service needs
- Perform other tasks as requested by hierarchy within responsibility scope
- Maintain collaborative relations with other technical departments for better response and resource optimization
Requirements
- Minimum Bac+3 in social sciences, international development, project management, human rights, protection, or relevant field
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position or in emergency and/or development projects
- Proven experience in humanitarian advocacy and/or community-based protection (CBP)
- Experience in community mobilization and strengthening local protection mechanisms
- Experience in drafting advocacy notes and protection analyses
- Experience in training and capacity building of local and community actors
- Experience in community-based targeting is an asset
- Experience in Cash For Work, AVEC and Cash Transfers activities is an asset
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to represent the organization with various partners and coordination bodies
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Proficiency in French (English is an asset)
- Knowledge of the Chadian and/or Sahelian context is appreciated
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in mobile data collection tools (Kobo Collect, Activity Info, etc.)
- Knowledge of Wadi Fira province, especially Iriba and surrounding villages, is an asset
