See your match score & applyThe Supply Chain Assistant supports and ensures compliance with DRC procedures within the area of operations. The role provides technical guidance and support to supply chain activities including procurement, warehouse management, fleet and asset management, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all procurement processes are in line with DRC Operations Handbook
- Providing effective and efficient support to programs’ needs
- Developing and maintaining relevant databases
- Maintaining the procurement follow up process
- Producing weekly and monthly status reports
- Warehouse management including reporting and alert mechanisms to program staff
- Assisting in recruitment, training, and capacity building of the logistics team
- Coordinating programme staff to ensure logistics involvement in the whole programme cycle
- Procurement of all goods and services
- Establishing and following up annual procurement plans
- Tracking all orders, purchases and deliveries
- Ensuring that all logistics specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected
- Oversight of all purchase and service contracts to protect DRC's interests
- Optimizing logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness including setting up longer term supply contracts
- Ensuring effective supplier due diligence
- Correctly applying ERP supply chain processes
- Ensuring compliance and implementation of Operations Handbook
- Providing monthly comprehensive country reports on procurement to SMM
- Implementing tools to improve procurement management
- Leading implementation of framework agreements
- Ensuring all Fleet and Asset management processes comply with DRC Operations Handbook
- Establishing quality transport and service for the organization
- Ensuring correct and timely routine maintenance and repair of DRC vehicles and generators
- Ensuring all vehicles carry required on-board documentation and that documents are kept current including insurance
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics management within the field of supply chain management, fleet management, asset management, and distribution support
- Knowledge and experience of dealing with service providers and contractors’ management
- High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good team-player
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience in working in NGOs
- Proven commitment to accountability practices
- Knowledge of computers: word processing, database management packages
- BA BM, Supplies Management or other relevant business fields
- Fluent in written and spoken English
