See your match score & applyThe Safety Assistant monitors and records all movements of DRC vehicles and staff, monitors information networks, updates local alert groups, and follows the security situation within the relevant area of operation. The role involves working shifts including night shifts and is office-based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for communication and monitor the movement of vehicles and personnel in the assigned operational area.
- Collect hourly/daily location reports from the assigned trip/team leader.
- Distribute received messages and information in a timely way to the appropriate persons.
- Monitor verified information networks and provide regular updates on the situation.
- Inform the immediate supervisor/manager of changes in the security situation, incidents affecting safety, or other urgent situations.
- Ensure confidentiality of information received on personnel movements and operations.
- Track using the GPS system and verify that DRC vehicle tracking devices are active.
- Update contact databases for all DRC staff in the area.
- Transfer all relevant information regarding trips received during the shift into the appropriate table.
- Monitor the air security situation in regions.
- Conduct weekly checks of communication equipment.
- Conduct briefings and instruct staff before trips.
- Provide staff with the necessary safety equipment.
- Complete any other tasks as instructed by the manager.
Requirements
- Ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
- Good proficiency in English.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel and standard office tools.
- Preferably at least 1 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and contribute to a positive working environment (desirable).
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize a range of tasks (desirable).
- Strong organizational and administrative skills (desirable).
- Willing to learn and adapt to work processes (desirable).
- A degree or diploma in relevant subject is preferred but not required.
