See your match score & applyThe Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for leading partnership strategy development, managing partnerships throughout the project cycle, ensuring donor compliance, and supporting grants management and capacity building for local civil society organizations in Venezuela. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and partners to ensure effective programme implementation and resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, rollout, and periodic revision of DRC Venezuela’s partnerships and localization strategy
- Support the identification and selection of implementing partners using DRC’s standard tools and templates
- Review partner narrative and financial inputs to proposals and project modifications
- Support monitoring of partners’ progress against programme targets and budgets
- Ensure sub-grant agreements are drafted, monitored, and followed up regularly
- Conduct partner monitoring visits for quality assurance and relationship maintenance
- Advocate for mainstreaming partnership management across all functions and clarify roles and responsibilities
- Review and improve partnership management processes and tools
- Ensure compliance with DRC global policies and donor rules and regulations
- Assess partnership management approach and recommend improvements
- Ensure partner assessments are completed and communicated to relevant units
- Explore new partnership opportunities in collaboration with HoP and Sector Coordinators
- Coordinate with partners and DRC teams for concept notes and proposals development
- Organize design meetings with partners and ensure their engagement
- Ensure regular grant review and close-out meetings to monitor implementation and compliance
- Support grants management processes including modification requests and no-cost extensions
- Support coordination of donor visits
- Maintain up-to-date information on donor strategies and funding opportunities
- Support development of localization strategy focusing on donor engagement
- Undertake capacity development assessments for partners’ staff
- Plan and support delivery of capacity development activities and track progress
- Provide capacity building to the DRC team as relevant
- Oversee internal and external partner reporting ensuring quality and timeliness
- Ensure accuracy of partners’ information in Grants trackers and communicate key requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with an I/NGO
- At least 3 years of proven experience in partnership management and capacity building of local civil society organizations
- Understanding of best practices and strategies in partnership programming
- Experience in training facilitation and inputting to training content
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, representation, negotiation, and diplomacy skills
- Comfortable in a multicultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
- Adequate grant management (program and budget) skills
- In-depth understanding of the civil society operating environment in Venezuela, and adequate knowledge on legal and financial risks associated with partnership modality
- Experience in implementing projects through local partners and providing direct technical support to local organizations
- Experience in writing high quality proposals for large donors, such as EU donors, ECHO, SDC, GFFO and UN agencies
- Knowledge of donor rules and regulations with a focus on ECHO, SDC and country-based pooled funds (Venezuela Humanitarian Fund)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize large workloads, to consistently meet deadlines and adapt in a complex and challenging work environment
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in teams
- University degree in law, political science, international development, economics or another relevant field
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish
