Information Management Specialist

The Information Management Specialist will set up and roll out a coordinated information management system for the FCDO HOPE S programme, including database and PowerBI dashboard development, data cleaning, and analysis. The role supports MEAL coordination to ensure quality data analysis and contributes to evidence-based programming and advocacy through improved information management products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the set-up of a harmonized interoperable information management system that facilitates data sharing and coordination across the consortium and feeds into the wider protection analysis in Sudan.
• Develop and maintain Consortium’s information management systems, including databases and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security.
• Lead development and updating of PowerBI dashboard based on data collection tools.
• Collect, assess, analyze, and disseminate information with relevant stakeholders.
• Produce programme snapshots and dashboards monthly, maintaining GBVIM minimum standards, GDPR standards, donor and DRC data protection policies.
• Support production of thematic reports and IM materials in consultation with Consortium partners.
• Provide IM technical support and capacity building to consortium IM focal points.
• Collaborate with RIMS team for training on referral information management system.
• Support service mapping and document referral pathways guidance.
• Ensure data protection and confidentiality in line with DRC, FCDO, GBV IMS, and GDPR standards.
• Develop and implement data quality assurance processes and conduct quality checks on collected data.
• Act as focal point for consortium share point folder and harmonize information collection and reporting.
• Work closely with program teams, MEAL, and IT to integrate information management with program strategies.
• Monitor and review data collection methodologies and improve research tools.
• Support evidence generation, data triangulation, and documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
• Support MEAL team in post-distribution monitoring and on-site monitoring.
• Track distribution lists and follow up on contextual developments for thematic research focus.
• Explore innovative data collection methods in limited access contexts.
• Collaborate on harmonized reporting mechanisms for beneficiary data, logframe data, assessments, and complaints feedback.
• Support donor reporting and development of concept notes and proposals for future programming.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years practical experience in IM and/or monitoring, working for INGOs in humanitarian settings.
• Excellent knowledge of research/data collection and protection monitoring methodologies, experience in development and roll out of data collection tools.
• Proven experience in developing PowerBI dashboards and data visualization with experience in data management.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, preferably including through the protection analytical framework.
• Ability to interpret, analyze and synthesize information in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable experience producing quality analytical reports under tight deadlines using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and other data analysis software.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment as well as independently.
• Proven experience in capacity building of teams including development of training materials.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail.
• Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Human Rights, Law, or related field.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
