See your match score & applyThe Grants Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of grant management for DRC Bangladesh and Myanmar, supporting donor engagement and fundraising efforts, leading proposal development, ensuring programme cycle management in line with donor requirements, and strengthening partnerships with local organizations. The role reports to the Head of Programme and manages the Grants team while collaborating with multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of fundraising and donor engagement strategy and efforts for DRC Bangladesh and Myanmar
- Coordinate all aspects of the proposal development process including bid identification, Go/No-Go analysis, proposal calendar, development and timely submission of high-quality proposals
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure proposals reflect needs and response analyses and are supported by an appropriate Theory of Change and Logical Framework
- Lead on the review and quality assurance of proposal packages for consistency with donor requirements
- Support the country and sub-offices to ensure inclusion of DRC programmatic standards and policies
- Ensure a robust Grants Management system including maintaining grants tracking tools and producing monthly updates
- Maintain and update DRC internal system Dynamics with all relevant grants documents
- Provide regular updates on grant delivery, gaps, risks, and challenges to Senior Management Team
- Lead the Grants Team to prepare and facilitate project kick-off, review, and close-out meetings
- Provide oversight in the review of strategic donors’ grants including management tools analyzing plans against achievements
- Coordinate delivery and timely submission of high-quality donor reports ensuring quality control
- Manage official communications with donors including reports, requests for information, grant adjustments, proposal submissions, and advocacy
- Support review and finalization of Grants Agreements with donors
- Support external donor audits and monitoring visits
- Facilitate tracking of overall programme portfolio with donors and monitor investments/income
- Provide advice and guidance on donor compliance requirements and rules
- Liaise with DRC HQ to provide updates on grants, donors and PCM
- Support equitable and effective partnerships by involving local partners in proposal design and programme cycle management
- Support development of Sub-Grant Agreements with partner organisations ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Ensure donor and DRC guidelines and deadlines are known by project teams of local partners and provide capacity building
- Ensure quality of partner reports and agreement amendments as per donor regulations
- Manage the Grants Team providing leadership, training, coaching and performance feedback
- Prepare work plans with objectives and priorities and assist in identifying professional development needs
- Undertake training and capacity development for DRC staff and partners on grants management principles and processes
- Support development/customization of training materials
- Perform any other tasks as agreed with the line manager
Requirements
- Degree in relevant subject e.g. Social Sciences, International Development, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 4 years work experience in similar job at international level
- At least 2 years' experience in people management and team leadership is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize large workloads, to consistently meet deadlines and adapt in a complex and challenging work environment
- Demonstrated ability in thinking creatively and practically to improve the quality of projects
- Analytical and critical thinking, with problem solving skills and the ability to work operationally without losing sight of the strategic goal
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders with strong communication, reporting writing, coordination, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working with local partners
- Commitment to Age, Gender, and Diversity inclusion
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the application of humanitarian tools and standards
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential
- Willing to travel to rural/remote project sites
- Ability to work well in unstable security environments, and under significant professional pressures
