Responsibilities
- Collect and consolidate maintenance data within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Support the preparation and coordination of maintenance activities on-site.
- Roll out new maintenance methodologies in collaboration with field technicians.
- Enhance work instructions, checklists, and quality assurance procedures used by contractors.
- Contribute to the implementation of maintenance policies and best practices for new cryogenic assets as part of the HL-LHC project.
Requirements
- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, excluding Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals due to membership agreement ceilings.
- Maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field by the application deadline.
- Highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree; you cannot hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Knowledge of cryogenics fundamentals or oil and gas systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Understanding of maintenance documentation.
- Demonstrated teamwork, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow established procedures.
- Motivation to learn and develop new technical competencies.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
- A valid driving licence.
- Medical clearance required due to occupational health risks including exposure to electromagnetic fields.
- Willingness to work in radiation areas and underground installations.
