Support volunteer workforce focusing on volunteer engagement and direct assistance to recurring local disasters such as home fires and floods. Facilitate volunteer teams and implement initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support a diverse volunteer team responsible for volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming or specific functional activities in the assigned geographic area.
- Assist with implementation of disaster cycle services program activities or specific functions within the assigned geographic area.
- Monitor, collect and analyze business data to improve services to individuals and communities.
- Engage disaster volunteers who represent the communities they serve culturally and linguistically.
- Support development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers and volunteer partners for disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.
- Participate in disaster response operations in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services Concept of Operations upon completion of training requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
- Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Develop project plans & budgets.
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work outside of regular duty hours including nights and weekends.
- Must meet all training and physical capacity requirements for deployment to disaster relief operations outside of their region at least once a year.
