Hungary asked to be judged by what we do. We will be reliable. Member of the European Union, a committed NATO ally and an active member of the United States United Nations. These partnerships do not take away our freedom. They protect it. Hungary will defend its national interest, but it will do so as a partner. We believe that national interest and international cooperation do not have to stand against each other. For Hungarians, the reasons are part of our our own history. 70 years ago, the Revolution of 1956 expressed our people's determination to govern themselves. Soviet tanks tanks crushed that hope. Our appeals reached the United Nations, but the international community could not prevent our defeat. Many countries represented here opened their doors to Hungarians who fled their country after the revolution.

End this war. Mr. President. Sweden has been an active contributor to the United Nations for 80 years, and we remain committed. But as a staunch partner, we will continue to push for UN that is more effective, more transparent and better equipped to uphold the principles of its charter. A UN that is resolute.
